Tarangire is a park of giant baobab trees, rolling savannah and acacia Parkland. It is famous for its dense wildlife population, which is most spectacular in the dry season between June and September. It is during this period that thousands of animals- wildebeest, zebra, Eland, hartebeest, buffalo, and onyx migrate from the dry Maasai steppe to the Tarangire River in search of water. Birds are also abundant here and over 550 species have been recorded. The western Lake Burungi route, a pleasant drive of about 80 km, meanders through combretum (a genus of about 250 species of trees and shrubs native to Africa) and acacia woodlands. With a bit of luck, it is quite possible to encounter leopard and rhino in this area. The route also features lovely views of lakes Burungi and Manyara as well as the peaks of Milima Mitatu or “Three Hills”. The Kitibong Hill route also covers the western section of the Tarangire National Park and is centered on the Kitibong Hill. The route features combretum, acacia woodlands, the Gursi floodplains to the south, as well as a large variety of plain animals, including buffalo and elephant. Dinner & Overnight at Marera valley Lodge
Today after breakfast you will drive to Ngorongoro Conservation area a 2 hour drive from your lodge upon arrival you will descend into the Ngorongoro crater floor. From the comfort of your open-top vehicle, descending down the crater, you will enjoy extraordinary panoramic view and if you are lucky, you will see the Big five. The caldera is exhibiting more than 120 species of mammals. We will also visit saline lakes such as lake Magadi, which is a magnet for flamingos and other water birds. We will see pools full of hippos, the endangered East Africa’s last black rhinos including birds such as secretary bird, white stork arriving from Europe during the rain season, kori bustards, crowned cranes and ostriches. It is for sure a landscape of sheer beauty. Another big draw card to this picturesque park is its dense population of predators, which include lions, hyenas, jackals, cheetahs and the ever-elusive leopard, which sometimes requires a trained eye to spot. After the thrills and excitement of the day, you will have a hot lunch in the park. Dinner & Overnight at Rhino lodge
Today after breakfast you will drive outside the park to Arusha on the way you will pass by Masai boma to visit the Masai tribe, this activity will take about two hours then you will drive back to Arusha
